OMG OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IT IS SO AWESOME THANK YOU. I just KNEW that someone talented could make something AWESOME out of that song and I was riiiight :D This is somehow exactly how I imagined it and yet entirely different and unique. I loved it ALL. I love the way you opened the vid on the poor raggedy-looking TARDIS, and switched from Oswin to Eleven on the opening beats. I really didn't expect Oswin at all, and yet it was perfect—both of them locked in their own heads, unable to face terrible realities ♥ And then the music room, heart of the house, the tomb and the not-hearing theme vs. "I heard these words in my head" and "I can always hear you." eeee oh god. The choice of the images and audio bits was just so utterly fitting and beautiful and spot-on I just can't. THERE WAS A SHOT OF ELEVEN'S CLOSED RIGID HAND. And Eleven's beautiful mourning face. And the shot you chose for "I was in a shaken state". I was flailing madly at all the River/Eleven flashbacks, going further and further back to the beginning of them when the chorus went "Here I go again, feelings I cannot describe…"—that was another one of the things I hadn't imagined on that song at all (and believe me, I've sat there squeeing at the lyrics a WHILE) and argh how can you be so perfect and have the bloody perfect idea oh dear oh my heart. I LOVED how you had the two of them in black-and-white at first, and then switch to colour during the Last Night shot, it was just beautiful. I loved how you showed the Ponds in there. I LOVED how you had Eleven smiling at Clara and gripping her little hand when River said "Don't travel alone". The Clara parts were just lovely—I can't believe you put bouncy!monk!Eleven on "I got me dreaming of rock and roll"!!!! Clara in the part about standing up and living again, of course. Eeeee. But then it switched again to darkness with the Great Intelligence in the tomb… It was so beautiful to show the stars winking out on "Here all over the place". Loved the mirroring between Clara falling and being caught by the Doctor, and then the Doctor falling and Clara jumping into the timestream to save him. And then "faces I don't recognize" on various echoes of her running after the various versions of him, and Clara's message, Clara's mission. It's perf. And the mirroring between the Doctor holding Clara's hand and River's. I loved the echo part, so intense—"you should have faded by now" and you showed the fallen Gallifrey bottle too, ghhhhh—and I love you even freaking more and HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE for mirroring Clara and Berlin!River as they turned and tossed their hair. That was just for the feels and gah these women own me :D
"I met you, I met her, I met them"—that's such a key part and I love your interpretation of it—I just gasped when the Whisperman stepped through River's ghost, and "meeting them", of course, the Doctors. "How could I ever prevent" with the Hide shots of Doctor stepping out cautiously—how are you so clever. "The escape to my own mind's den" showing the darker sides of the Doctor, with Mr. Clever and Hurt. I LOVE the way you used the Doctor's room during the GI's speech, and added Eleven's quote to the Dream Lord and the Time Lord Victorious oh GOD! You put the Time Lord victorious in there! You used Nine from the Dalek episode, so raw and amazing! You had Donna hug the Doctor when River shouted "Shut up! You are loved!" And Jack and the Ponds! ♥♥♥ And those closing quotes. *dead* I can't believe it. My expectations from such a vid were sky-high and you just went and owned everything and left me a mess of feels. THANK YOU SO MUCH I AM HYSTERICAL.

That's a mad review if I've ever saw one. I hope it's not too different from what you had in mind . And it's quite impressive you interpret just the way I would the editing! The quality of my clips for TNoTD allowed me such zooming trick -vive France 4 HD!- it was irresistible not to. His face! For the 'here I go again', it was mainly Eleven reflecting on his loving River, altough he knows he always lose them... I wonder what you had in mind for that bit. The flashblacks in order is a trick I use ALL the time *hides face in shame*. The B&W/colour switch is mainly due to their out-of-order meeting... In that condition, flashbacks are vain. Bouncy Eleven was inevitable! About Clara being caught by the Doctor, it's not my favourite aspect of her arch -the Doctor spends his time saving his companions. Insisting on him saving her here is somewhat ludicrous, but hey, that was in the show. Technically speaking River and Clara both saved the Doctor in that episode, so, here, parallels everywhere between them two. Someone insisted somewhere -elisi, Moffat-rocks?- that the reason Clara says "I was born to save the Doctor" was that because in a ynamic opposite to River's sacrifice, she will be the cause of his regeneration and kill him. The meeting part was rather a recognition of the true nature of everybody - River is a ghost, Clara an echo, the Doctot... Spoilers, I guess. The hide shot! He steps back into the house, thus retreating in himself! I had little time for the companion's hug, so I chose the ones I find most significant -Donna hugged him without knowing what had happened on Midnight, Jack forgace him his plain abandonment, the Ponds were his family. Too bad I had no time for others -with my music cutting. I'm so relieved it pleased you so! Your prompt was amazing! *squishes you*

*grins widely* It was the first time ever I went so in depth for a vid comment, but I really, really wanted to fill my eyes and mind with every last bit of it! It was so, so delightful. Not so different from what I had in mind, just enough as in you made it entirely yours, but the spirit of the finale and all the River and all the Clara and all the bliss I'd been foreseeing went way beyond my expectations :D Just perfect.
Well, guess we just saw the very same things in the song lyrics! :D Very glad I apparently got what you wanted to convey quite well, though :D

I didn't think of precise things for every last line, for "here I go again" it would probably have been River indeed, or else the falling into his own timestream already because of "the walls of my mind"… :)
Good point about the Doctor catching Clara. Ah well, they went with the whole Impossible Girl + Eternal Saviour thing, never mind that he saved her often too. Goes with the whole Super!Clara business that annoyed us a bit ;P But it allowed for broken!Clara to stumble towards him, so I can forgive that…
Ohhhh. I definitely remember elisi insisting on the born of save him vs. born to kill him opposition, but I don't think I've read the theory that they'll go full reverse and Clara will save, then kill, so it mustn't be her. It's a fascinating idea! Reminds me of Wilf for the last regeneration ♥

Wow, this was fantastic! Sad and dark and foreboding, but also still leaving room for some light and hope. I especially loved the sequence leading up to the opening of the door in The God Complex. And the lines from the show intermixed with the music were very well done.

Oh, and Nine and Ten and Hurt!Doctor and the Dream Lord... And ending it with "and you are all I ever remember" -- absolutely perfect!

Thank you very much! The ending line was there to answer the question initially asked -can he hear all his ghosts? Not necessarily, but he remembers them -cf. River's ghost was not literally there the entire series, she just haunted his memories. I'm so glad you liked it!

Well, strangely enough, it was not the hardest vid I've worked on, the rhythm was pretty easy to follow and the lyrics were rather explicit in terms of interpretation... The ending had to be bittersweet -with Hurt's Doctor-, since no matter how often his friends repeat to him he is loved, he will always listen to the 'wrong' ghosts.

I've been putting off commenting on this for want of being able to put together words for it, but then I've been saying for awhile now that this show has broken meta. It has become way too big. There are too many layers and mirrors and iterations and words are just no longer sufficient for tackling it. The only thing that seems remotely up to the task is vidding, and I think this vid is a case in point.
